SookieSookie is a fine feline and she needs a new chapter in her life story because she is not too pleased with the one she is stuck in right now.

Sookie was left in a cardboard carrier in the middle of a cold December night on a doorstep. I have heard of fates worse for cats, but this one really hurt. Could the person not have taken her in to a shelter and told the staff more about her? Now we are left guessing.

Some things we do know: Sookie is scared right now, but her playful side comes out for a variety of toys (This post from February showed Sookie playing with a toy I made). And do not get her started with the laser pointer, unless you want to play for a while, of course.

Sookie is probably about 5-years-old. She was very unhappy in the first home we tried and she seemed afraid of the traffic sounds from the street. I have also seen that she does not enjoy the foot traffic on the street, so it appears she wants a quiet home with someone who knows how to relax and have fun doing it.

We also know that Sookie tolerates other pets that are not very interested in her. She is a live-and-let-live kind of girl, unless the other pet is too pushy or agressive. Then just fuggetaboutit.

UPDATE: It is official that Sookie will go to her new home tomorrow. I am really happy for her and the new family because Sookie really deserves a good home. Here’s to second chances!
